BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Aug. 26, 2021 - PRLog -- Maureen L. Mulvihill, Ph.D., the Life Sciences Pennsylvania 2020 Frank Baldino Bioscience CEO of the Year, was recently appointed to the Life Sciences Pennsylvania Board of Directors. As a LSPA BOD member, she gives a voice and advocates for Pennsylvanian entrepreneurial and startup life science companies.

Life Sciences Pennsylvania (LSPA), one of the largest statewide life science associations, was founded in 1989 by two Penn State researchers.  They represent medical device companies, pharmaceutical companies, investment organizations, research institutions, and myriad service industries. LSPA provides members with one-of-a-kind networking opportunities to help them facilitate strategic connections.

"It takes a village and the Pennsylvania life science community stepped up during the pandemic providing vaccines, tests and PPE that have been critical in the COVID fight.  I am very honored to represent and advocate for our community on the LSPA BOD," said Maureen L. The Life Sciences Pennsylvania Frank Baldino Bioscience CEO of the Year recognizes a CEO who has demonstrated visionary leadership and active participation to advance the science industry. Frank Baldino, Jr., founder, and CEO of Cephalon, Inc., was a pillar of the life sciences community in the Greater Philadelphia region and of the biotechnology industry. Maureen is widely recognized as a visionary leader of Actuated Medical. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, her team quickly reacted and within 7 days stood up a reusable face shield manufacturing line – shipping shields to first responders, manufacturers, and schools. The product line grew over the next 4 months due to calls from businesses, schools, and parents to include reusable face shields for children, hard hats, and sports helmets. In 2020, AMI grew in employees and doubled its footprint to accommodate manufacturing scale-up.
