Homeschooling on the Rise Among Military Families

GRAY, Tenn. - Aug. 31, 2021 - PRLog -- Prior to the pandemic, the rate of military families choosing to homeschool averaged around 8%, about five percentage points higher than the general population. During the virus outbreak, the number of military parents opting to homeschool jumped to 13%, according to the 2020 Military Family Lifestyle Survey Comprehensive Report, a lifestyle survey of military families conducted by Blue Star Families (BSF). The BSF report goes on to add that "homeschooling has become a growing practice among military families to offset some of the challenges of military life, such as relocation and gaps in child(ren)'s education."
