World-renowned artist Gerry 'GOS' Simpson inspires business owners surviving COVID-19 pandemic

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Aug. 23, 2021 - PRLog -- As businesses large and small pick up the pieces following the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, two women-owned businesses are working with world-renowned artist Gerry "GOS" Simpson to offer guidance to underserved communities.

In collaboration with Oz Collective Media, Capitol Studio West will launch the first episode of their "Experience Depot" web series, "10 Ways," at a screening and fundraiser on Saturday, August 28. The event will be hosted by Simpson, a celebrated painter and civil rights activist based in Sacramento.

10 Ways is a free community event held at the GOS Art Gallery/Studio (1825 Del Paso Blvd. in Sacramento), with screening times at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. COVID-19 safety protocols be in place, including required face masks. During the event, guests will be able to screen 10 Ways, tour the art gallery, and network with other artists. Refreshments will be served.

Experience Depot is a web series featuring candid, short documentary-style video stories that are both informational and entertaining. In 10 Ways, GOS shares the 10 things that made it possible for him to find success as an artist.

Guests can also screen the episode online starting at 5:30 p.m. at theexperiencedepot.com.

Donations from the event will be used to fund future episodes of The Experience Depot web series. Episode two is hosted by Dania Denise Mallette, a local chalk artist and filmmaker. Episode three features Saumirah McWoodson, an elementary school teacher, ballet dancer, and dance board maker. Future episodes will focus on health and wellness and women in business.

"The purpose of this community event is to create a platform for local business owners to share their journeys through the business industry and resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Ozola Cody of Oz Collective Media. "In doing so, we hope to provide inspiration, resources, and information to other community members."
