Canada is among only seven industrialized countries where the pedestrian fatality rate continues to rise. Distracted driving, lack of law enforcement and limited signal vision are to blame for the increase in pedestrian-motorist accidents. More than 300 pedestrians are killed every year at road intersection collisions in Canada, and many more have died or been injured from traffic light accidents.
