Two Gold Star Families to speak Sept. 30 at The Lori Fund Luncheon

PALM COAST, Fla. - Sept. 14, 2021 - PRLog -- Frank Petruno, founder of The Lori Fund, is pleased to announce that the 501c3 organization will welcome two Gold Star Families to speak at a luncheon hosted by The Lori Fund on September 30th at 11:30 a.m. at the Hammock Beach Resort, located at 200 Ocean Crest Drive, Palm Coast. Hilary Robinson McKeon, 35, is the daughter of Army Lt. Col. Craig Robinson, who lost his life in 1994, and Michelle Scherkenbach is the surviving spouse of Army Warrant Officer Chris Scherkenbach, who lost his life in 2006. Michelle will be accompanied by their 17-year-old daughter, Sarah Grace.

The Lori Fund will also be donating an additional $50K to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) at the luncheon, bringing the total that they've donated this year to SOWF to $150K. The SOWF is a top-rated nonprofit organization that provides fully funded education and more to the surviving children of fallen Special Operations personnel, as well as for the children of all Medal of Honor recipients. SOWF also provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded and hospitalized Special Operations personnel. The media is invited to attend and the check will be presented at a luncheon.

Much of the money that was donated was raised earlier this year from a concert held on the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach featuring Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee from THE VOICE, a sold-out golf tournament on the Hammock Beach Ocean Course, followed by a banquet at the Hammock Beach clubhouse. "We have zero overhead expenses at The Lori Fund so all monies raised go directly to helping the families of our fallen special warriors," said founder of The Lori Fund Frank Petruno. The remaining funds were generously donated by 'a village of people that have rallied around this cause'.
