ANTRIM, U.K. - Aug. 6, 2021 - PRLog -- A good original scooter part represents an important barometer of the high standard quality work of the engine, the brake and the clamp system, whereas the scooter as a whole. But, do you know how frequently should you replace the components? See below the detailed answer ti this question!

Many different factors affect the overall performance and longevity of your Honda® motorcycle. One of the most important factors to consider when caring for your investment is how often you should replace various motorcycle parts. You'll be happy to know that you can extend the lifespan of your motorcycle as long as you're diligent with routine maintenance and part replacements.

1. Brake pads

When you squeeze the brake lever, it triggers a series of events in your motorcycle's brake system. This causes the brake pads to pass against the rotors and stop the bike. Wear and tear is inevitable, so your brake pads will eventually corrode. You'll need to regularly check them to ensure they're in good shape. If your brake pads become thinner than 2 mm, you'll need to replace them as soon as possible. Regularly, the brake pads are replaced between 40000-60000 kilometers.

2. Battery

As you know, your motorcycle is powered by gasoline and its battery. While many bikes have maintenance-free batteries, you'll still want to check that it's working properly. You can have the electrolyte level checked when you take your motorcycle for an oil change. Typically speaking, most motorcycle batteries offer a shelf life of two years. Once this period passes, you'll want to get your battery replaced.

3. Spark plugs

As a general rule of thumb, your motorcycle's spark plugs will need to be replaced every 12,000 miles. If you're performing maintenance and notice an unusually wide gap, eroded center wire or ground electrode, you'll need to replace the spark plug right away.

4.  Bike Chain, Drive Shafts, and Belts

The three most durable parts on your bike are the bike chain, belts, and drive shafts. Keep in mind that they tend to have a life expectancy that ranges between 15,000 and 30,000 miles. With that said, it's still important to check these during your maintenance routine. You want to confirm that your bike chain isn't too slack and that it's consistently well-oiled. It's also a good idea to keep it clean. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, you can always ask your mechanic if it's time for replacement or if it's too slack and simply needs to be tightened.
