August 4, 2021   WHITBY, ONTARIO – A national adaptive program is creating inclusive pathways to participate, compete and advance in the game of golf and paragolf. ParaGolf Canada is an initiative that encourages people of all abilities to play and compete in the game of golf.
Now, new-found supporters of MacGregor Golf Consultants, join other formidable partners such as adidas Golf Canada, TaylorMade Canada and ClubLink, ParaGolf Canada offers training and development, classification based on physical, mental and emotional ability, a nationwide ranking system and provincial and national teams.
"With the 2020 ParaOlympics starting in a couple of weeks it is fitting that the golf community welcomes diversity and adopts practices that help people accomplish their goals of inclusion and participation" shares Todd Keirstead CPGA,  founder of ParaGolf Canada, Robert Kains of Kains Golf Course Design and Rob MacGregor CPGA, President of MacGregor Golf Consultants and are all leading advocates for those living with disabilities and access to all participation and accessibility, not just golf.
"Everyone should have access to golf in whatever capacity they choose or are able. We hear often that individuals who want to play golf and live with disabilities feel excluded. These are the obstacles that ParaGolf Canada is working to address" asserts Keirstead.  MacGregor states, 'we just need facilities for everyone to play and of course, sponsorship dollars and support in order to start to make that happen.'
"Todd Keirstead has long been a strong advocate and coach for adaptive golf. Now, with the launch of ParaGolf Canada, he will be able to bring the game to more people of all abilities. Todd truly exemplifies our core belief at adidas: "through sport, we have the power to change lives," states Lesley Hawkins, General Manager of adidas Golf Canada.
Todd called me a couple of weeks ago, MacGregor stated and asked, 'whaddya think? Want to climb aboard?'
