Dr. Rajan Mahtani Approaches London High Court Over Fbz Bank Deal

LUSAKA, Zambia - Aug. 5, 2021 - PRLog -- Atlas Mara is a banking group founded by Bob Diamond. The banking and financial group along with its ex-founded Bob Diamond, is facing damages claim worth multi-million pound over disputed purchase & sale of Zambian bank. This Zambian bank is Finance Bank Zambia and the claim has been established by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, its ex-owner. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted Zambian tycoon who recently made the claim that LSE (London Stock Exchange) listed Atlas Mara breached the contractual agreement established between the financial institution and Dr. Rajan Mahtani during the share sales & purchase of Finance Bank Zambia. This agreement was established in 2015 but Dr. Rajan Mahtani is yet to receive the amount agreed in the purchase & sales agreement.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani hired noted international law firm Omnia Strategy for bringing the case to London High Court. While a representative from the Atlas Mara said that these claims are untrue and without merit, there are several other investors who are also pursuing damages claim against Atlas Mara and its ex-founder Bob Diamond. These claims are amounting to more than 100 million pounds. The claims made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani and other investors comes at a time when Atlas Mara is retreating its operations by selling its business parts after facing significant losses.
