Become a Traveling Taster as ChowderMonth Kicks off Labor Day Weekend

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Aug. 2, 2021 - PRLog -- Spend your September on the Chowder Trail as a Traveling Taster supporting local restaurants by purchasing competition chowder and voting for your favorite Red, White & Creative champions. The Southern Ocean  County Chamber of Commerce has been working closely with  local businesses to bring an expanded version of ChowderMonth back to the region. Fully aware that this 33 year event relies on volunteer support, the organizers recognize the strain placed on the business and non profit community over the past year and a half.  This year, the spirit of Chowderfest will once again steer chowder purchasing with participating restaurants to keep dollars flowing directly to them and a chance to earn the vote online.

This year the cook off features restaurants looking for your vote in the White or New England Style: Country Kettle Chowa, Panzone's Pizza, Quincy's Original Lobster Rolls, Scojo's, Surf City Hotel, and The Chicken or the Egg. Red or Manhattan style includes Cluck'n Crabs, Country Kettle, Lefty's Tavern and Roberto's Dolce Vita. The Creative which presents seafood soups such as bisques include Dune 18, Country Kettle, LaBamba, Old Causeway Steak & Oyster House, Qunicy's , Terrace Taven and Polly's Dock. Once you register to vote with an email, you will have access to online mapping, digital check in, online voting, as well menu, website and contact info.

The popularity of last year's online voting engaged thousands to eat in or take out throughout the month bringing more people into the region and allowing more time to enjoy tasting. The success has led to an additional investment creating easy to use, web based Traveling Taster Technology. This service will be available at no cost for voters to check in with restaurants, vote and even qualify for vintage Chowdergear prizes that can be claimed at planned the 2 day free festival happening at Beach Haven's Taylor Avenue Bayfront October 2 & 3.
