The thrilling, shocking and most fashionably-dressed commercial fiction release this season!
It is not a shiver. It is not a shimmy, It is FULL BODY SHAKING.
By: Lize de Kock
Thrilling, shocking and tremendously sexual, FULL BODY SHAKING is the story of Poppie, a woman who crosses borders, boundaries and personas in a glamorous attempt to travel and dance her way around abuse, toxic relationships and emotional trauma. She can be anything she wants to be, except herself.
'The more I sleep, the more I can start over when I wake up. Refresh. Rethink. Colour my hair pink.'
Part battered small-town girl, part alluring traveller, Poppie's search for the right look has her doing whatever it takes to shake the hollow feeling. From behind layers of doll-eye mascara she transforms herself, only to take on everyone else's ideas of what it means to be enough. Will she find a safe place to be; a dancing, breathing human being–made of the same water and dust as everyone else?
Author Lize de Kock spent the long lockdown periods over the past months finalising the last steps for her first novel. "The many reports of sexual misconduct continuing to rise have motivated me even more to finish this story. I hope that my words will help women to realise that there is a fine line between abuse and empowerment. I hope people will see that they don't need permission to be themselves. No one but you decides your worth."
Launched with much fan fare and a belly dance performance at the Praterinsel in Munich, Germany, where guests coloured their hair pink in support of the author, FULL BODY SHAKING is now available for international distribution.
About the author: Lize de Kock was born in South Africa where she spent most of her early years writing poetry, some of which were published in local anthologies and literary magazines. Her first paid project as a conceptual writer won a competition that gained international media support for a homeless woman in Cape Town. Lize has since lived and worked in the United Arab Emirates and Europe, penning travel stories, and picking up creative awards as a copywriter, chief editor, and communications director. She is currently based in Munich. When she isn't writing or travelling, she volunteers at a women's shelter. This is her first novel.
