New Voters to Hold Fundraiser in Miami Florida

MIAMI - July 20, 2021 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 3:00-6:00pm, the New Voters Miami Team will be hosting a bake sale on Sunset Dr. in Miami, FL. Local students from Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and Coral Gables Senior High will be hosting the event and fundraising for New Voters. New Voters (https://www.new-voters.org/) is a student-run, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting youth civic engagement through student-led voter registration drives.

The proceeds of the bake sale will go towards the relaunch of our Teens Get the Vaccine campaign for the upcoming back-to-school season. Our Teens Get the Vaccine campaign is aimed at combating youth vaccine hesitancy and misinformation surrounding COVID-19 through recruiting and educating student leaders to host vaccine hesitancy campaigns in their high schools. Our bake sale will also aid our fight against voter suppression and help us in our mission of increasing civic engagement among youth. Our past events include our Week of Action which occurred on July 9 and 12-16. Our Week of Action was aimed at empowering youth to become civically engaged in their communities. It featured an initial training day as well as state specific action days so students can better understand how they can make the greatest impact in their individual states. Guest speakers at this event included the New Georgia Project and Georgia State Representative, Park Cannon.
