Staycation Surge: Huge Number of Brits to Holiday in the UK

New statistics show the demand for domestic holidays will grow even as international travel restrictions are lifted.
YORK, U.K. - July 19, 2021 - PRLog -- New research published today by log cabin holiday website shows that a staggering 93% of UK holiday makers intend to take a staycation within the next year

The news comes despite a gradual relaxation of covid-19 international travel restrictions, and the success of the UK vaccination program.

It appears that over a year of stop-start lockdowns has rekindled a love for domestic holidays and supporting British holiday destinations. Indeed, 7 out of 10 people surveyed said they thought the UK should increase its number of national parks, and 81% believed the British Government should invest further in improving UK destinations.

Climate concerns are also playing their part in the staycation boom. 74% of people said that climate change and carbon emissions influence their choice of holiday location. In addition, the demand for more sustainable accommodation is increasing, as 87% of people said that eco-friendly holiday properties appeal to them.

In another interesting finding, the survey discovered that as the demand for staycations increase, so too does the requirement for more pet-friendly vacations. 62% of respondents thought there should be a wider choice of holiday accommodation to welcome their furry friends.

The CabinBookers 2021 UK Holiday Survey was conducted in the United Kingdom between July 2 - 6, 2021. 678 UK based participants were included in the final analysis.
