Southern Illinois University Continues to Lead Alumni Engagement by Partnering With Proptopia
Protopia Southern Illinois University and Protopia are happy to announce their partnership to engage student and alumni networks.
SIU was referred to Protopia by the University of Pittsburgh, a current partner of Protopia. From their experience, SIU knew that an alumni portal wasn't a solution for alumni engagement because they often go unutilized. Jeff Gleim, Associate Vice Chancellor for Development & Alumni Relations says, "Today, mentorship needs to be organic and responsive. People have a world of knowledge at their fingertips, and Protopia injects our alumni and students into that web. In my mind, this is the future of professional engagement. Mentorships will either form like this or not at all.."
SIU is a research university founded in 1869 and currently offers over 300 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. SIU will launch their partnership with a pilot this July in which 50,000 of their 200,000 alumni, and their entire student body of 20,000 will begin using Protopia.
"SIU's vision and ours was immediately aligned on how truly inclusive engagement needs to work" said Max Leisten, Founder and CEO at Protopia. "The most enthusiastic graduates are happy to use another social networking platform. It's the 80% of unengaged alumni that need a simple way to give back that fits their busy lifestyle."
Founded in 2016 with a mission to connect everyone, Protopia's proprietary artificial intelligence software makes it simple to connect alumni with students for mentoring, networking and advice while keeping alumni actively engaged with the university. As a leader in the engagement technology world, Protopia continues to work with top universities for their engagement needs.
