Black Wall Street Expo attracts International Nova, other prominent individuals

ATLANTA - June 28, 2021 - PRLog -- The Financial Literacy Institute recently put together the Black Wall Street Business Expo, a day-long panel discussion about new opportunities to build wealth in the Black community.

The event took place on June 19, which is now the Juneteenth federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the U.S. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the riots and race massacre in Tulsa, Okla., where, along with a large loss of life, many Black-owned businesses and supporting financial institutions in an area called "Black Wall Street" were destroyed.

This year's Black Wall Street Expo included interesting discussions about financial opportunities, current challenges for businesses, and suggestions for ways to circulate "the black dollar" to encourage future investments and business growth. Panelists also suggested ways to improve networking and support of Black businesses in order to better close the wealth gap.

It attracted a diverse group of panelists, including producer and activist David Banner; Dr. Erica Brown; Primerica Vice President Demarcus Crump; and Jasmine Young, event co-founder and founder of Southern Tax Preparation and Services, a national accounting firm that also promotes financial literacy.

The panel was moderated by radio personality Nikki Wood. Organizers hope to make this an annual gathering.

A variety of guests also attended the BlackWallStreet expo, including musician and actor International Nova.

Although he grew up in the Bronx area of New York, International Nova now considers the Atlanta area to be his home. It's where he pursues his entertainment dreams, including creating new music and acting in movies and shows.

He was part of the cast of the "Love and Hip Hop in Atlanta" TV show and is also working on a new reality show, "Off Air," that shows the opportunities and challenges facing Latinos who are trying to pursue their musical dreams and other creative endeavors.

International Nova recently released "Controla," a single that blends Latin rhythms and hip-hop.

As his success in music grows, he has regularly pledged to use his fame to help others, especially youth in disadvantaged communities. These efforts include looking for ways to promote music programs in inner cities or seek grants.

In early June, he joined other prominent entertainers in a celebrity basketball game in Atlanta that raised money to help sickle cell disease research and treatment. Keep up with @internationalnova on all social media platforms.
