Volunteer champion Jake Dheer was honoured with the Hazel McCallion Power of Giving Award sponsored by Brampton Brick Limited. Maritime Ontario returned as Title Sponsor and was joined by Scotiabank at 7700 Hurontario Brampton as Event Partner, KMA Consultants Inc and Wood Gold LLP as Event Sponsors, MacMaster GM as Entertainment Sponsor, and Alphavima as COVID-19 Stars Sponsor. Award Nominee medals were supported by Nadine Melrose. Here are the award recipients of the 2021 Virtual V-Oscars: - David Hardy (Regen Brampton) won the Helping Hands Award – Brampton sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brampton. - Peter Thompson (Bethell Hospice) won the Helping Hands Award – Caledon sponsored by the Rotary Club of Palgrave. - Eva Dobiz (Habitat for Humanity) won the Helping Hands Award – Mississauga sponsored by DoGood Fundraising. - The Family VolunTree Award, supported by Jim Waechter, went to the Craven Family (nominated by Volunteer MBC). - Goncalo Miranda (R.E.S.T Centre) received the Newcomer Gem Award sponsored by Alphavima Technologies. - Charmaine Holland (Volunteer MBC) received the Leader of Tomorrow Award supported by Sandeep Aujla. - The all-new Continuum of Care Award, supported by the Abbasi Family, went to Four Colours Drum Circle (nominated by TRCA). - Community Climate Council (nominated by Volunteer MBC) won the Youth LEaD by Example Award, supported by the Perera Family. - The Business Vitality Awards for Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga went to Rotary Club of Brampton (nominated by Regeneration Outreach Community), MARS Canada (nominated by SHIP Peace Ranch Program) and Avsar Restaurant (nominated by City of Mississauga - Library) supported by Arno Ilic and Mayor Allan Thompson, respectively sponsored by OASSIS Benefit Plans. - Dagma Koyi (R.E.S.T Centre) won the Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award sponsored by BTI Brand Innovations. - Susan Vint (Caledon Parent-Child Centre) was presented with the Bonnie Yagar Award for Community Engagement Leadership sponsored by Pallett Valo LLP. - Lynn Dobson (Bethell Hospice) won the John Huether Award for Volunteer Excellence sponsored by The Co-operators. - Don Smith (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel) won the Lois Rice Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award supported by Lois Rice.
