Unique Woman's Coalition Receives Grant of $10,000.00 from AIDS Healthcare Foundation

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Awards Unique Woman's Coalition Grant Funding of $10,000.00

[LOS ANGELES, CA, June 10th, 2021] — On June 8th, 2021, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) awarded Unique Woman's Coalition funding in the amount of $10,000.00 to support the program entitled Trans Empowerment Ambassadors (TEA). Over the next 12 months, this funding will be used by the Unique Woman's Coalition to enhance the Trans Empowerment Ambassadors (TEA) project, which teaches ambassadors how to assist with legal

document alignment and increasing the capacity of other organizations wanting to work with Trans people of color living with HIV or at high risk of contracting HIV.

The core elements of this project include the following: 1) Training a cohort of UWC TEA Ambassadors, (2) legal document alignment workshops, (3) "We've Got You Covered" Peer-led healthcare coverage training for trans people, and (4) Provider summit on how to serve trans people of color living with HIV or at high risk of contracting HIV. A total of 5 Ambassadors will be trained in 2021 by the AHF Fund grant. The TEA ambassadors will conduct a total of 4 legal document alignment workshops with 10 people per workshop, 2 Peer-led "We've Got You Covered" healthcare coverage trainings with 20 participants per training, and 1 provider summit with 20 service providers on serving trans people of color with HIV or at high risk.
