Located in Founders Square, a mixed-use development at the northeast corner of Immokalee Road and Collier Boulevard, the new 20,000-square-
Family-owned and operated since 1958, Sunshine Ace has grown to include nine hardware locations in Collier, Lee, Charlotte and Pinellas counties, as well as a commercial paint store in Naples, two Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware stores in Manatee County and two Crowder's Gifts & Gadgets shops in Manatee County. The North Naples hardware store will be its fifth location in Collier County and 12th in Florida.
"Naples has been our home for more than six decades, and the success of our stores in Collier County has allowed our company to expand northward," said Sunshine Ace President Michael Wynn. "The Immokalee Road corridor is poised for explosive growth over the next decade, but there currently are no hardware stores in northeastern Collier County. This new store will serve the thousands of residents and businesses coming to this region over the next few decades."
Founders Square will include restaurants, retail shops, medical offices and luxury residences.
Groundbreaking is expected later this year, with completion mid-2022.
Sunshine Ace was founded in 1958 on Fifth Avenue South in Naples after Don Wynn converted a Western Auto Parts store into a full-service hardware store. In the years since, the company has opened additional locations in Naples, Bonita Springs, Golden Gate, San Carlos Park, Marco Island, Port Charlotte and Largo, and Crowder Bros. Ace stores in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch.
"Our business still holds true to the values that my grandfather instilled over 60 years ago," Michael Wynn said. "As a result, our customers enjoy the service, values and ideals of 'small town Naples' with all the modern conveniences of online shopping, curbside pickup and great prices."
One of those values, Care for your Neighbor, continues to drive Sunshine Ace's commitment to the community through support for numerous charitable causes and nonprofits. Since declaring Children's Miracle Network as its "primary charity partner" in December 2019, Sunshine Ace and its generous customers have donated more than $127,000 to support Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Other initiatives include donations to Coastal Conservation Association, Gulfshore Playhouse and many other local nonprofits.
Sunshine Ace has selected PBS Contractors as the general contractor for the project.
