Smart Digital Census in Uttar Pradesh, White Paper Released

LUCKNOW, India - June 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Concept of Smart Digital Census was launched through a white paper authored by Sapio Analytics, with support from UP Industrial Consultants Limited (UPICON), a deemed government body established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The concept talks about replacement of traditional census by a uniquely designed concept of smart digital census.

Use of a mechanism to dynamically evolve the questionnaire, do regular auditing of responses with a feedback loop to improve the audit, GPS-enabled tracking and guidance for the enumerators on ground, and use of cloud to collect data in real-time are some of the unique features of the smart digital census, that claims to use simple and empathetic methodologies to ensure an easy shift to this new age technology.

The paper also provides a case study of a work done in the state of Uttar Pradesh for an evaluation of the unorganised sector.

"This concept of smart digital census can help improve the outputs of the census significantly, effectively increasing its importance in policy making across sectors and departments, on a pan-India level, while making the entire process more cost effective and less time taking. In this paper, we have evaluated census across different countries, and the use of modern techniques everywhere, while being able to propose something that has never been seen before in its current form except the case study that we have executed", says Ashwin Srivastava, CEO of Sapio Analytics, about the paper.

The paper was authored by a team of Sapio Analytics led by its Head of Finance and Census Research Shivangi Singhee.
