Abhay originally began telling the story that would become The Golden Orion to his friends on a car trip. They eventually insisted that he publish it as a book. He began writing in 2018, taking two years to complete it. In 2020, after Evincepub publishers turned down the manuscript, they agreed to publish the work.The book gained international acclaim almost immediately for fantastic fiction with high fantasy.
Abhay's debut romantic fantasy imagines an old century world in which a boy named Orion goes for an adventure. It's difficult to describe his work in 'The Golden Orion' which is a romantic dark fantasy. His adventure includes, a trip to Firnaria where he enlightens himself in the Ganivo.
A flawed piece of prose but a wonderful finale to a thoroughly marvelous concept.
With lush world building and prose that is impossible to turn away from, it's a refreshingly original take on a fantasy world.The prose is masterful with rich characterization exhilarating storytelling. Not a word feels out of place. This is the kind of book you recommend to anyone, whether or not they think they like fantasy.
It's still one of the great books of fantasy literature and more than enough to have fans scouring for every hint of a publish date for Book Two.
What Abhay said on his books,
" I was raised in Jammu and worked in Delhi and Mumbai with production houses. Working on novels has helped me perceive the unusual," says Abhay on how he came to tell the short stories in his book that were first written as fun and bedtime story for family and friends.
"The idea to write first struck on 5 April, when i went into lockdown. The book has lived its own journey since. I never thought of it as a physical book", says Abhay adding that he wrote 2 more novels, in which one is dwelling on nearly every aspect of the lockdown.
