Susan Keller's Only Chance of Survival Rests in the Hands of Someone Who's Been Missing for 30 Years
By: TouchPoint Press
"Blood Brother" is heavily focused on the Patient Journey, a term describing a patient's interaction with the healthcare system from diagnosis to recovery. Keller says that the Patient Journey is a critical topic in the medical community today adding that her memoir, "looks intimately, humorously, and brutally at issues such as physician-patient communication, trust, and medical errors; metrics on which healthcare providers are measured and are deeply concerned."
About the Book
As a happily married, professional woman, I had it all—until the devastating lymphoma. During moments when my survival was uncertain, I questioned the nature of death and fate and faith. After months of punishing chemotherapy, I still needed a Bone Marrow Transplant to eradicate the cancer. But the only person in the world who could donate and save my life was my brother, Johnny, who'd vanished thirty years before.
"Blood Brother" is the story of curing an incurable cancer and of the enigmatic events that led to finding a man who never wanted to be found. It's a moving tale of forgiveness, rebuilding family, and of how to live fully when life hands you a profoundly generous second chance.
