Sea Sense - The World's #1 Ocean Friendly Flip Flops

EASTLEIGH, U.K. - June 8, 2021 - PRLog -- ​Sea Sense Flip Flops was started to try and prevent plastic reaching our oceans. Through the sale of our plastic-free biodegradable flip flops, we want to fund the collection of plastics before it reaches our oceans. We are working with Empower, The Ocean Cleanup and Ocean Sole Africa to help reduce plastic pollution and also provide a vital income for plastic collectors in developing countries.

​What are we all about?

We have designed and produced a range of stunning plastic-free 100% Biodegradable vegan Flip Flops. With profits we will collect at least 1 million ocean bound plastic bottles in 2021.

Why this product? Why now?

The idea stems from years of working, hands-on, in marine conservation; seeing first-hand the damage that humans are doing to our oceans, through their use and improper disposal of plastics.

The years of experience combined with the fact that, incredibly, around 25% of plastic pollution found in the ocean is flip flops, gave us a brain wave. Using the world's most popular shoe, we could help solve one of the world's biggest environmental problems.

We didn't want to just make yet another flip flop from recycled ocean plastic. This does not help solve the problem at all. We made a promise that not only will Sea Sense never use any plastic in our products or packaging, but we wanted to actually prevent plastic from going into our oceans.

We want to enable people, through the simple act of buying a pair of flip flops, to fight back, to say no to plastics.

What need/problem/pain points are we solving?

We are providing a means for people to act. Awareness of ocean plastics is high, but the methods of actually helping are relatively unknown, aside from recycling. We offer a way of converting concern, into action, through a simple process, that has zero chance of affecting our oceans.

How do we solve that problem?

Flip flops are the world's most popular shoe. 3 billion are sold every year. Simply, we are offering people the chance to make a difference, by choosing our flip flops next time they are looking to add some to their wardrobe.
