This season, the editors ask, "What does it mean to truly connect?" In his response, a young editor delves into the importance of meaningful relationships. Other pieces released today include an article on parasocial relationships, a contributor's personal essay on her community's approach to diversity, another author's narrative about a big risk that brought him new friendships, an interview with the founders of the nonprofit Hear Your Song, and a review of the book Confetti Girl. Throughout the season, KidSpirit will continue to publish writing, poetry, artwork, and video by youth on this rich theme. In Features, writers will examine the evolutionary role of connection and the meaning of loneliness. Awesome Moments pieces will delve into transformative experiences, while the Interfaith Connections department will feature perspectives of teens from different faith traditions. The Helping Hands section will explore the life-changing impact of serving others, and, in Media, young authors will review more books and movies related to the issue's theme. Each issue of KidSpirit features additional wisdom from one adult with expertise in the theme in a column called PerSpectives. This issue's author will be announced later this season. KidSpirit is a unique forum for young people of all backgrounds and traditions to explore life's big questions in an open spirit.
