Research underway this summer
- June 17, 2021
-- The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce moves into its next phase of their 2021 Commerce & Community Strategic Plan. The chamber announces it has secured a substantial research project to look at changes in how residents, second homeowners and visitors plan to utilize the LBI region for work, schooling and recreation. The region's chamber has engaged Brian Tyrrell, Ph.D of Stockton University to oversee the survey and complete the study. Dr Tyrrell states the ultimate result of the research "We would like to know how the composition of those enjoying the Long Beach Island region may have changed over the past year and a half."
To make sure this project is inclusive and can provide results that our community can find most useful, the chamber with assistance of their commerce committees are looking for wide distribution of the survey link/QR Code from local businesses, non profit organizations, cultural entities, and municipal representatives. They will have the survey open from July 1- September 5, and are asking that area residents, visitors, groups and businesses post to social, use QR code flyer in high traffic areas or add to websites. This will guarantee the best response possible. The organization is also asking all businesses and community groups to share with staff, boards, and other contacts so they can further extend this important research outreach.
The chamber is planning to unveil our research and provide insight to economic development for the region, during their September 15 Innovate & Caffeinate Small Business Week Conference featuring Dr. Tyrrell scheduled to be in person. Since 1914, the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce has enriched the quality of life for the citizens and guests of Ocean County through the promotion of business and tourism in the Long Beach Island region.
