Sapio Heritage, a division of government advisory firm Sapio Analytics, has launched a new blockchain based store for Indian artists using non-fungible tokens by Opensea, with a focus on spirituality and consciousness
By: SHA (Opensea)
Using the NFT marketplace, Opensea.io, under a store called "Sapio Heritage Art", curated artworks from selected artists in India are displayed for purchase. These artworks are bound together by their connection to spirituality and support in elevation of human consciousness in the context of Indian heritage and culture.
"We are seeking to work with talented artists to help them promote their art on NFT platforms. The work of art as we know, works like a club, with not much room for budding talents to break into this esoteric world. NFT marketplace is that creative disruptive space that can create the right value for art by securely establishing its origin and provenance, while displaying its significance on human existence", says Prashant Nikam, Chairman of Sapio Analytics, through a public post on the same.
Sapio Heritage Art store has initiated with 3 selected artists, Sujan Biswas, a celebrated painter with nature as the leitmotif of his creations, Simran Manhas, a young artist who creates visual imageries for the soul, and Sanjana Gupta, an architect who combines western technicalities with Indian traditions to present urban landscapes.
"Each of the artists come with a unique signature of their own, designed to help elevate the consciousness of human beings, when seen in the right light and perspective. We are also in the process of creating an entire marketplace, that even allows non-crypto users to own and experience the power of these arts, making art truly mainstream and ensuring its benefits reaches the masses. The current NFT store on Opensea.io is a start that will change the art world for the better", adds Ashwin Srivastava, responsible for curating artworks under Sapio Heritage Art.
Sapio Heritage has recently been in news for revealing a lost tradition of Indian art to the world through a revelation of the earliest surviving Hindu painting, that was recognised by dignitaries representing 15+ countries. In an event presenting the works of distinguished art historian Benoy Behl, attended by Indian leaders Suresh Prabhu and Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, amongst ambassadors and cabinet ministers from across the world, the global significance of ancient Indian art was established.
With the use of non-fungible tokens by the firm, in its pursuit of establishing true value for Indian art, blockchain technologies are finding more acceptance by policy makers around the world.
