Yours Humanly Launches Virtual 2021 BookFest Read-a-Thon, Sponsored by Amazon
Global summer event is raising desperately needed funds for educational programs and resources for children in need
By: Yours Humanly
Funds raised during the Yours Humanly summer read-a-thon go toward its global projects to create safe and productive educational experiences for children in need during the 2021–2022 academic year.
"Fifteen months ago, we could not imagine the staying power of the virus and remote-learning orders," says Sunny Singh, founder and CEO of Yours Humanly. "And now, as schools move through recovery and students return to the classroom, we wonder what the schools they'll be returning to will look like. We do know that classrooms will take on new shapes and sizes, and that learning will not be confined to the four walls of the classroom and bell schedules that move hundreds or thousands of students along. Every day will be a day of discovery. Yours Humanly is steadfast and will continue to raise funds to provide educational programs and resources so desperately needed by underserved students around the world who have lost so much this past year."
The Yours Humanly 2021 BookFest Read-a-thon runs through July 31, and registration is free and open to all individuals, families, and communities worldwide. Only one registration is needed per family, and families can add any number of readers who wish to participate in fundraising for a good cause.
