Oregon Couple Debuts "Cheri's HazelCreamTM ", The Non-Dairy Product You Can Cook With
By: Val Nichols LLC
This new line of great-tasting plant milk is made from Oregon hazelnuts, using a proprietary process that delivers a delicious alternate. It will be available in mid-July via their website for direct-to-consumer sales. Currently they are accepting pre-orders of their first limited production runs.
What began as a home experiment, has turned into a quest to help others who have challenges with dairy milk. Cheri Redgrave, founder, and brand ambassador tells the story. "I love to cook. But at the age of 62, I was diagnosed with four food allergies including wheat, eggs, dairy, and of all things, peas. After much trial and error, I eventually found substitutions for all of these ingredients except dairy."
Thus started a two year journey of discovery trials, and experiments to find a suitable dairy replacement that tastes remarkably similar to dairy.
This product launch comes at a time when consumers are turning to dairy milk alternatives. Between 2000 and 2019, per capita consumption of dairy milk has declined nearly 29%. More people than ever are focused on plant-centric diets and prioritizing health & wellness goals. A Nielsen survey found that nearly 40% of Americans are trying to eat more plant-based foods. Cheri's HazelCream fulfills this need perfectly.
Their 2-pack includes two, 2 fluid ounce portions that each make up to a quart of finished milk substitute when combined with water in the consumer's kitchen blender. If the consumer desires a richer flavor, they simply add less water. They can even make buttermilk.
"We created a healthier alternative for dairy milk by using locally sourced, Oregon Hazelnuts, and our proprietary roasting method, to design our great-tasting product,"
