After Evaluating Evidences And Information, The Final Decision From Supreme Court Zambia Announced

LUSAKA, Zambia - May 31, 2021 - PRLog -- Portland Cement Zambia factory is a noted cement-manufacturing factory in Zambia which is under the leadership of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Finsbury Investments, which is a company owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, took over the leadership of Portland Cement via an original shareholders agreement in which Finsbury Investments received 58 percent shares. This restructuring of the shareholders was done with the objective of securing finances and loans for the development of the factory. However, the Ventriglias soon questioned the legality of this shareholders agreement and illegally took over the factory. This resulted in Dr. Mahtani appealing at the Lusaka High Court. After the wait for a decade and subsequent controversial verdict from the Lusaka High Court judge, Dr. Mahtani approached the higher Court of Appeal. The judge at the higher Court of Appeal reversed the previous decision from the Lusaka High Court and announced Dr. Mahtani as the majority shareholder and legal owner of the factory.

However, the Ventriglias once again tried their luck by approaching the Supreme Court Zambia and appealing against the higher Court of Appeal's decision on Portland Cement. The Supreme Court established a bench and evaluated this appeal. The SC bench found that the timeline for submission of such appeals against court decisions is 14 days from the decision itself. This means the Ventriglia family submitted their case after more than 1.5 years of the verdict. As a result, their appeal was automatically rejected by the Supreme Court Zambia.
