San Antonio Express-News Announces 2021 Salute To Nurses Virtual Event

SAN ANTONIO - May 24, 2021 - PRLog -- Join us online at mysa.com/STN on Friday, June 4th at noon to watch our 2021 Salute to Nurses program.  This special edition program will be featuring a keynote speech from Dr. Nelson Tuazon, DNP, DBA, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, CPHQ, CPPS, CPXP, FNAP, FACHE, FAAN and Vice President & Associate Chief Nursing Officer, University Health.

Our Salute to Nurses program will also include messages of appreciation from our amazing sponsors, and an award ceremony highlighting 14 local San Antonio nurses in various healthcare fields. The program will be available online after the noon premier on June 4^th at  www.mysa.com/STN.

Nurses are the lifeblood of our community. Words do not begin to describe how thankful we are for their sacrifices over the past year. They should be honored. The Express-News has a program, Salute to Nurses, that has honored nurses over the years.

This year we have restructured the program to make sure that we celebrate and honor these humble health warriors in the best way possible.

They have cared for so many of us when we were at our most vulnerable. We know there are great stories of sacrifice during the fight against COVID-19, and we are beyond grateful for the sacrifices they have made for our community. We thank you.

We believe that these humble health warriors deserve recognition. That's why this year, based on input from the public and health professionals, we want to celebrate San Antonio nurses through our Salute to Nurses program.

A panel of experienced judges, provided by Texas Nursing Association, picked 14 local nurses across various healthcare fields to be highlighted in our June 4th virtual event and in our June 6th special section.

All nominated nurses will have their names listed in our virtual event and printed in the Salute to Nurses special section, publishing June 6.

We thank you for celebrating and honoring the nurses in your life. They help keep our families and loved ones healthy. They provide a special kind of care when we are in our most vulnerable state and continue to keep up the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Nurses give us comfort and hope for the future. To put it simply, they are incredible.
