Self Help App earns just $2 from 4.25m+ streams

ESSEX, U.K. - May 22, 2021 - PRLog -- Self-hypnosis app, EnTrance hit big-time viewership when Tiktok app began carrying it's guided meditations.
Over 4.25m streams were recorded in February by EnTrance's digital distributor, Routenote.
However, when EnTrance's CEO Stuart Newman received the months media income reports, there was just $2 more income than the previous month, where the self-help behemoth logged just a modest 16k+ streams.
Newman says, "The idea behind EnTrance is to get premium quality self help recordings out there at a price everyone can afford. We did hope for a little more than $2 return from over 4 million streams though."
Routenote told EnTrance that media owners are only paid on content usage and not for views on TikTok videos.
Newman concludes "Whilst I believe the like of Spotify should be paying artists a much higher royalty per play, I've always backed digital distribution and argued that modelled against radio play income per listener it's not that bad, and the publicity is worth it for new acts, but this has just turned that argument on it's head. We're happy to let the content get to the end user for low/no cost, but not when there's a middle platform which is gaining something off the back of our hard work."
EnTrance is available as YouTube and Roku channels or via a free app on Android/iOS.
