Firefighters & EMS Fund Releases Video on the Effects of Covid-19 on First Responders

ARLINGTON, Va. - May 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Grassroots political organization Firefighters & EMS Fund released a video online this week highlighting the challenges first responders have faced over the past year due to the global pandemic. This in-depth video invites the public into the world of emergency responders and other public servants in understanding the severe impact now and long-term that Coronavirus will have on the individuals and the industry as a whole.

Firefighters and EMS Fund provides a grassroots voice for firefighters across the country in the state and local political process. Throughout this past year, the organization has worked with local departments across the country to help bring awareness to their communities on funding and resource needs, upcoming referendums, and more. This grassroots approach allows them to work on both smaller local issues and broader, systemic issues affecting firefighters and EMS personnel all over the United States.

"One of the greatest threats to first responders before Covid-19 was insufficient funding. In the Covid-Era, this has only accelerated," said Nile Porter, Executive Director of Firefighters & EMS Fund. "It is essential for the public to understand the crisis departments are now facing to properly fund their operations."

This newest public awareness video, "Covid-19 Effects on First Responders, (https://youtu.be/Yefp3XUNsVA)" explores the initial challenges faced by emergency personnel at the outset of the virus and the challenges we may see in the near future, including:
  • Insufficient Personal Protective Equipment Supplies
  • Massive Loss of Tax Revenues Used for Funding
  • Impending Lay-off Crisis for Struggling Departments

"This video is an important one to our mission to serve the needs of the first responder community, we hope that you will take time to watch and join us in advocating for the needs of our communities' heroes," concluded Mr. Porter.
