By: Urban American Productions The Forest Service is holding a virtual award ceremony on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm EDT. The ceremony can be accessed by this Adobe Link: https://usfs.adobeconnect.com/ Due to the pandemic, Urban American Outdoors (UAO) had to find a way to continue their national fishing derby and in response, they created the Urban Kids Fish Virtual Fishing Derby. "That would have been our 15th year of doing the Urban Kids Fishing Derby nationally, but due to COVID-19, we canceled all of our events for safety," Hubbard said. "But families still wanted to do something out in nature, so we created this virtual fishing event." The virtual derby drew in participants from 39 states with the highest participation from California, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The 2021 Urban Kids Fish Derby Virtual Derby will take place June 5 thru June 13, and families can pre-register at www.urbankidsfish.com Urban American Outdoors is the first diverse outdoor lifestyle TV show. The show is 100% owned and produced by an African American Woman, Candice Price. Hubbard and Price have been national leaders in achieving diversity and inclusion in the outdoors.
