Firefly Children's Book Rereleases Just in Time for Gatlinburg Event!

GATLINBURG, Tenn. - May 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Johnson City, Tennessee, is proud to announce the republish of Moondance of the Fireflies by Tamela Marie Wheeler!

Tamela Marie Wheeler passed away suddenly in 2011, shortly before her book was published. It was her families wish to see her dream become a reality. Wheeler was a talented English teacher to students of all ages. She was a wife and a mother of two sons. It is with great respect and love that her book, Moondance of the Fireflies is dedicated to her memory.

In the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, a young boy enjoys the wonder of a hot, summer night catching fireflies. However, these are unique fireflies. It is the synchronous firefly. These special fireflies appear for a short period in the summer and communicate in a special way by flashing their hues of greens and yellows at the same time; performing a melodic dance through the mountain air. On the other side of the world, a young boy from Southeast Asia enjoys the same thrills of the fireflies on a hot, summer night, once again showing us that no matter where children might live, they all experience the joys of nature and the excitement of discovering the natural world. Woven throughout Moondance of the Fireflies is also a lesson on this very special firefly; giving an easily understood science lesson to the child and parent.

The republish of Moondance of the Fireflies comes just in time for the Gatlinburg Synchronous Fireflies event, which is hosted from June 1^st through June 8^th.

In tandem with Wheeler's book and the Gatlinburg event comes another JCP book which also honors the fireflies. Fireflies Dancing in the Night by Kathleen M. Jacobs is a story of the innocence of youth, the timeless beauty of nature, and the interwoven intricacies of the ties that bind us one to the other.
