On Top Of a Cloud Announces Re-Release From AudioSparx and Songtradr

STATELINE, Nev. - June 9, 2021 - PRLog -- On Top Of a Cloud is pleased to announce the re-release of "On Top Of a Cloud" from its branded multimedia music catalog in cooperation with its Distribution Partners, AudioSparx and Songtradr:.

Named Permanent Featured Artist by AudioSparx in 2016, On Top Of a Cloud Composer and Founder, Leland Thomas Faegre was delighted with the production:

"My signature thematic statement, in this production I have incorporated 'data sonification' arrangements in which telescopic data from 66 far-flung galaxies and black holes are translated into audible arrangements—that is to say, music; collected by NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory and wind from the Jezero Crater of Mars via the Martian Rover, Perseverance."

Astronomical data collected by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and other telescopes are converted into sounds; data sonification maps the data from these space-based telescopes into a form that users can hear instead of only see, embodying the data in a new form without changing the original content.

"When a star like the Sun begins to run out of helium to burn, it will blow off huge clouds of gas and dust. These outbursts can form spectacular structures such as the one seen [and heard] in the Cat's Eye Nebula."

"The wide range of musical frequencies [in the arrangement] represents the full range of X-ray frequencies collected by Chandra of this region," NASA said

Returning to the Re-Release of "On Top Of a Cloud," Faegre remembers recording the basic tracks:

"Written on an old upright at Big Bear Lake, California early in 1987, the character of most pianos often contributes enormously to the composition and this was no exception. Although damaged by water shortly thereafter and the property of a dear friend, I hope one day to have it in my studio.

"On lovely cumulus and preferably without shoes, it is without effort that this ethereally tranquil, atmospheric composition will summon the listener to imagine themselves On Top Of a Cloud..."
