![]() Community First Awards $7,500 in Scholarships to USLA Champions Merit ScholarshipsBy: Community First Health Plans "Supporting our community is what keeps us going at Community First," says Cynthia De La Pena, Sr. Manager, Outreach Development for Community First Health Plans. "We hope to continue creating opportunities for children to excel in all facets of education and higher learning." Graduating seniors that applied to this scholarship had to show that they led by example on and off the field, complete 6 hours of community service, maintain a 3.0 GPA and have 90% or greater attendance at school. In addition, applicants were also asked to submit a written essay sharing what they wanted to achieve and accomplish in life, as well as, what servant leadership means to them and how it would be applied. Scholarships were awarded based on the applicant's choice.
