Carrington College Expands Award Program for Nursing Students and Faculty

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - May 5, 2021 - PRLog -- Carrington College is pleased to announce that it will be expanding the DAISY Award® program, including The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty and The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students, to all its campuses with applicable nursing programs. In collaboration with The DAISY Foundation™, Carrington College will continue its tradition of celebrating extraordinary contributions to the field of nursing.

The DAISY Awards have been adopted by healthcare facilities and educational institutions around the world to celebrate nurses for their extraordinary care and compassion. After years of success at the Carrington College Reno campus, the program will now be expanding to all campuses with nursing faculty, staff, and students.

"At Carrington College we have always believed in recognizing the outstanding contributions of our healthcare professionals including nursing students and educators," said Dean of Nursing at Carrington College, Susan Drossulis. "In recognizing all their hard work and accomplishments, we can continue encouraging their success while also addressing the need for more of these healthcare heroes," added Drossulis. "As part of this ongoing effort, we are proud to be expanding The DAISY Award program to our Albuquerque, Boise, Mesa, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Jose, and Tucson campus as well."

Both nursing faculty and students may be nominated by their colleagues, peers, patients, family, or alumni through an open nomination process. Award recipients will be chosen by a committee at each Carrington College campus at least once a year with each Honoree receiving a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a beautiful sculpture called A Healer's Touch.

The DAISY Foundation expanded its' flagship The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses to academic institutions to recognize the faculty who inspire compassionate care in their students as well as the students who demonstrate it during their education.
