The Ventriglia Family Surprises Everyone With Claim Against Higher Court Of Appeal's Judgement

LUSAKA, Zambia - May 5, 2021 - PRLog -- In a surprising turn of events, the Ventriglia family decided to approach the Supreme Court Zambia with a claim against the decision of higher Court of Appeal on the Portland Cement Zambia case. On 31st January 2019, justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal reversed the previous decision by Lusaka High Court on the same case. In his fresh verdict, justice Mwinde declared that Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments holds 58 percent shares of the Portland Cement Zambia factory and is the majority shareholder as well as legal owner of the factory. This decision was supported by the original shareholders agreement which was established in an official manner and duly signed by all stakeholders and legal parties associated.

After the Ventriglia family challenged this appeal, a bench of three Supreme Court judges was established for evaluating this claim. When challenging a court decision, it is required to submit the appeal within 14 days of the previous court decision. However, the Ventriglia family approached the Supreme Court only after 1.5 years. As a result, the Supreme Court bench clearly concluded that the claim by the Ventriglia family was invalid and should be effectively rejected. Furthermore, this decision from the Supreme Court Zambia confirms Dr. Mahtani owned Finsbury Investment as the majority shareholder and legal owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.
