BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - April 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Israel has the best vaccination programme in the world and will be one of the first countries to welcome tourists back.  To celebrate, Lightline Pilgrimages has created a special 'holy holiday' departing on 29 November, and which will be led by Rt Rev'd Martin Warner.

Three days will be spent visiting sites and towns associated with the life of Jesus including Mount Tabor, Cana, where He tuned the water into wine at a wedding, Nazareth, the town in which He grew up, Mary's Well, the Church of the Loaves and Fishes, and the ancient fishing village of Capernaum, the centre of Jesus' Galilean Ministry, to view the house of Peter.

The group will leave Capernaum by boat and sail across the Sea of Galilee to Tiberias before breaking for lunch. In the afternoon we drive to the exciting excavations at Magdala, the hometown of Jesus close friend and follower Mary Magdalene (Mary of Magdala).

On the fourth morning the group will leave Galilee and head south, with the first stop at the city of Nablus in which is found Jacob's Well.  From there the journey continues down to the Jordan valley, to see the site where John baptised Jesus, Jericho, the Mount of Temptation, before arriving in Jerusalem.

Whilst spending four nights in Jerusalem, sites and places visited will include the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the Shepherds' Fields, the summit of the Mount of Olives to recall the Palm Sunday route, the church of the Pater Noster – to recall Jesus' teaching of the Lord's Prayer to his disciples – and the church of Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over the fate of the city, and the Gardens of Gethsemane.

On day six, the group will explore the holy sites located on Mount Zion, the location of the Last Supper, visit the church of St Peter in Gallicantu,  the Crusader Church of St. Anne, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the village of Ein Karem – venerated as the birthplace of John the Baptist.

The final part of the itinerary will include the Western Wall – a section of the retaining wall of King Solomon's Temple – the Dome of the Rock, the Israel Museum, the Dead Sea, and the historic site of Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were uncovered.

There is also an option of a three-night extension to the trip, two of which will be spent across the border at Madaba in Jordan.

The holiday costs from £1995 pp (two sharing) which includes flights, seven nights' full board, all transportation, sightseeing, entrance fees and a guide.  The three-night extension costs an additional £695 pp (two sharing  room).  Call 01992 576 065 or visit www.lightline.org.uk.
