A Shortened Version of the Bible by Daniel Gwira

In author Daniel Gwira's own words:
I have done my best to promote the aspects that emphasise the greatness of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ and His followers in a way that makes it easier to read and understand, without losing the basic Message and without actually interfering with God's written Word.
This shortened version of the Bible is for all those who for their own reasons have not had the time, the patience, or the will to read the longer version. If after reading this version, one realises that there is only one God whom we must love and His Commandments obey, then this book would have achieved its aim and purpose.
I once decided to try to read the Bible and take notes. It took me almost a year! Although the Message was clear, powerful, and good, I wondered why there had never been a précis version of the Holy Book, and this gave me the idea to turn the notes I took into a shortened version of the Bible. I have to the best of my ability accurately and faithfully summarised the Bible in all its paradoxical mix of confusing complexity and sizzling simplicity.
The original manuscript for this book was written in a prison cell almost 30 years ago whilst I was pondering what had gone wrong in my life! I am still wondering how I am still alive and have much to be thankful to God for. The fact that someone with my colourful history of drug offences and no religious background to have written this book, A Shortened Version of the Bible, proves once and for all that God loves everyone without prejudice, and we are all capable of rising from the ashes to lead helpful, fulfilling, and ultimately successful lives.
"I pray that your A Shortened Version of the Bible will inspire and give confidence to many people to make the study and praying of the Word of God a critical part of their daily lives. Once again, I commend you on the great work you have done in the production of this book." – Archbishop Seán Brady (Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of all Ireland, 1998)
Born in Ireland of Ghanaian parents and public school educated in the United Kingdom, Daniel Gwira now writes, and records music in Ireland.
