Savings Bank of Danbury named CT's seventh largest SBA lender by Small Business Administration
By: PR First
This recognition follows several other lists which recognize Savings Bank of Danbury for its lending and its service in the region. The Hartford Business Journal included Savings Bank of Danbury in its year-end (2020) lists as among the largest in-state banks, and also as one of the region's largest PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) lenders.
In 2020 during the COVID-19 business shutdown and disruption, Savings Bank of Danbury has assisted well over 1,000 companies and helped preserve over 12,000 jobs through their participation in the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). They continue to support small businesses as they navigate the emerging regulations and the forgiveness process.
"We are pleased to have been ranked seventh SBA lender in the state by the SBA.," said Martin G. Morgado, President and Chief Executive Officer. He said, "Over the past year, we have had the opportunity to help over 1,000 businesses and non-profits working with the SBA through several of its programs. We value our partnership with the SBA and thank them for their efforts and leadership in supporting our small businesses, which are the backbone of the economy."
