Pro Athlete and Haverhill Local, Michael Kwegyir-Attah, Helps His Community

HAVERHILL, Mass. - April 8, 2021 - PRLog -- On Monday, March 22nd, Michael Kwegyir-Attah volunteered his time at Somebody Cares New England helping to provide food to those in need in his community. Michael, currently signed with the West Texas Warbirds, knows the importance of being actively involved and helping his community.

"I love helping my community every chance I get, not only because it's the right thing to do, but because of the pandemic, people are struggling now more than ever," said Kwegyir-Attah. "I volunteer to help spread love and hope to those who need it the most right now."

Somebody Cares New England is a non-profit, Christ-based community organization, committed to alleviating hunger, homelessness and being an advocate for children, youth, and the elderly.

They do this through a variety of ways: a food pantry, a mobile food pantry, neighborhood block parties or community dinners, and Christmas gifts for children in need. All of this is possible because of generous donations of not only food & funds, but of time from their community. They couldn't do this without volunteers like Michael.

"My experience with Somebody Cares was phenomenal. We spent our time organizing and putting bags of food together for their monthly distribution," said Kwegyir-Attah. "I met some great people who love to give of their time and help those in need in our community."

Even though Kwegyir-Attah leaves in a few months to continue his professional football dreams in Odessa, TX, a piece of him will always be back home with his community.
