Cheese Haus honored as one of 'Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch'

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - April 7, 2021 - PRLog -- The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus (https://frankenmuthcheesehaus.com/), one of the largest cheese shops in Michigan, is being celebrated as one of the 2021 honorees of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award, presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.

The annual "Michigan 50 Companies to Watch" award features a remarkable list of second-stage companies with 6 to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and that generate between $750,000 and $50 million in annual revenue or working capital from investors or grants. Additionally, the companies must be privately held and headquartered in Michigan.

The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus specializes in the production and sale of imported and domestic cheese. Cheese Haus artisans make homemade cheese spreads including garlic, horseradish, bacon, jalapeno, smoky jalapeno, fiery jalapeno, and a creamy blue cheddar spread. In-store, the staff also creates specialty flavored cheeses including chocolate, chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry, and blueberry cheese. There are nearly 300 cheese options all complemented by an abundant variety of crackers, meat, mustards/sauces, and gadgets galore.

The 52-year-old Cheese Haus has been so successful that in 2018 the shop was expanded to a new building on Frankenmuth's Main Street three times the size of the former location. A special Cheese Haus team also runs the Cheese Trap food truck, launched in the summer of 2017.

This year's 559 nominations all made an impact on Michigan's economy, award organizers said, despite unique obstacles faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They will be honored on July 20 at an awards ceremony during the 17th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business gala.
