The WAE Center's LGBTQ+ Pride Month Art Exhibit Issues Call for Artist EntriesThe WAE Center's "The Art of Inclusion" Pride exhibit is accepting artist entries until May 2, 2021. The exhibition is open to LGBTQ+ artists with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as LGBTQ+ allies.
By: The WAE Center The exhibition is seeking artwork that expresses authentic and diverse viewpoints from the LGBTQ+ experience. Artists are encouraged to show what being an LGBTQ+ person with IDD or ASD means to them and express what their Pride looks like. If an individual does not self-identify as LGBTQ+ but is a caregiver or ally, or is someone with IDD or ASD and adhere to the exhibition theme, they may also submit artwork for consideration. Fine art categories accepted The exhibition is accepting fine art in these categories: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, poetry, musical/audio recording. Additional submission criteria can be found at https://www.jsddmetrowest.org/ Artwork will be selected by a panel of jurors appointed by the WAE Center. The Artist notification of acceptance will be May 10, 2021 and the Artists Opening Reception via Zoom will be held on June 8, 2021 7:00 PM. About the WAE Center The WAE (Wellness, Arts, Enrichment) Center, a Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled (JSDD) service, is an adult day program focused on adaptive arts and personal growth.
