2021 Financial Literacy Film Festival to Be Streamed and Online in April

EL PASO, Texas - March 31, 2021 - PRLog -- Worldwide--- Organizers of the Financial Literacy Film Festival announced today that there will be some great films shown at this year's festival.

"The films selected for the 2021 Financial Literacy Film Festival are of the highest quality," said George Ohan, President of Fulton Film Company and producer of the festival since its inception. Films from around the world will be shown on four Fridays in April: 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

"How to manage money, which is what the Financial Literacy Film Festival is all about, can be told through stories in a high-interest, cinematic way that can help people learn about money management just as they do in a classroom, but in a highly entertaining way.  We think that seeing inspiring films is a great way to excite people about taking control of their own financial futures."

Michelle Murray, who directed a festival film previously and is a sponsor of the festival this year said, "Financial Literacy is a critical life skill.  It teaches one to understand how money works, which in turn is prevention against being trapped in debt or succumbing to cycles of poverty.  Financial literacy isn't just for the rich.  It's for us all."

Positive Response to Previous Festivals

Past Financial Literacy Film Festival audiences have been inspired and enlightened by the filmed stories they've seen at the festival, in which people struggling with money issues have learned to make money work for them and not against them.  Ohan said that "Audiences have included people forty years of age and older up to retirement age; families with children; and people who love movies and moviegoing, especially those who are now embracing the direct cinema experience through streaming and other online sources of film entertainment."

David Foxx, a producer and collaborator with Ohan for the festival adds that "people who have been thrown into the pandemic situation have welcomed the free access to learning about financial situations that participation in the Financial Literacy Film Festival affords them."  According to Ohan, the films included in the Financial Literacy Film Festival are edutainment: education about money matters that is entertaining at the same time.
