By: Rx Outreach Dr. Tripoli brings more than thirty years of military and private sector medical experience to the Rx Outreach Board of Directors, having most recently served as the Command Surgeon of the US Indo-Pacific Command. He was stationed in Iraq with the U.S. Marines and in Germany with the Navy Expeditionary Medical Unit in Germany. Dr. Tripoli authored a portion of the Pandemic and Emerging Infectious Disease Operation Plan, which was used in 2020 for the Coronavirus outbreak. Before his retirement in October 2020, Dr. Tripoli was awarded many medals for achievements in service, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Meritorious Services Medal. Dr. Tripoli graduated with distinction from Harvard University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has taught in academic and clinical settings such as Tripler Army Medical Center, St. Louis University School of Public Health Institute for Biosecurity, Johns Hopkins University Division of Infectious Diseases, State University of New York at Buffalo, and University of Pittsburgh. As a practitioner of Internal Medicine, Dr. Tripoli is a member of many prestigious societies, including the American Medical Association (AMA), the American College of Physicians (ACP), the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS), and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).
