Florida Skin Care Hires Shana Peterson, Physician Assistant

FORT MYERS, Fla. - March 24, 2021 - PRLog -- Florida Skin Center, skin care specialists that provide a full range of medical and cosmetic dermatological care, announced that Shana Peterson, PA-C, has joined the practice.   Peterson is a certified physician assistant specializing in general and cosmetic dermatology.

Peterson joins Florida Skin Center from New Mexico, where she worked for a large dermatology practice as a medical provider, diagnosing and treating all skin conditions, including skin cancer.

Peterson's passion for dermatology came at an early age when a loved one was diagnosed with melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and earned a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University in Pennsylvania. Upon completing formal education and training, she began her career as a provider for a dermatology office near her hometown in Pennsylvania. She developed an extensive background in skin health, expanding to laser and cosmetic procedures.

Peterson is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. In 2019, she obtained Diplomate Fellow status in the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).
