GREENVILLE, Pa. - March 23, 2021 - PRLog -- Thiel College seniors Sandra Dean '21 and Charlie Lichtenwalter '21 were named the Students of the Month for March recently.

The Student of the Month is awarded to seniors. It is among the most prestigious student awards at Thiel College (https://www.thiel.edu/), with only about six students each semester earning the honor.

Dean, of Hookstown, Pa., is a 2017 graduate of South Side High School and a psychology and sociology double major. She is president of Psi Chi, the psychology honorary society, and vice president of Active Minds. Dean is a member of the Dietrich Honors Institute and a member of Lambda Sigma, the honorary society for sophomore students. She has been a teaching assistant for multiple psychology courses as well as a supplemental instructor for general psychology.

She is the daughter of Germaine Dean, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Marcie Culley, of Hookstown, Pa. and the stepdaughter of the late Allen Mixter, of Hookstown, Pa.

Dean plans to attend a clinical psychology graduate program with hopes of becoming a licensed clinical psychologist.

"Throughout my four years attending Thiel College, I have drastically grown. I have become more confident in my abilities as a student as well as a person," Dean said. "Thiel has provided me with many experiences that have allowed me to flourish, and for that, I am grateful."

Lichtenwalter, of Erie, Pa., is a 2017 Mercyhurst Prep High School graduate and is a business administration and accounting major. After graduation, Lichtenwalter plans to work in either corporate financial accounting or in investment planning and research.

During summers, he coaches youth basketball in a City of Erie recreational program that teaches boys and girls from 9–17 the fundamentals of basketball as well as life. He has also enjoyed working on his fraternity's philanthropy projects.

He is the son of Paul and Suzanne Lichtenwalter, of Erie Pa.

"Being a transfer student can be difficult to navigate, but my Thiel experience has been great thanks to the many people who made it a very easy process," Lichtenwalter said. Finally, my experience has been shaped by being a member and the president of the Kappa Sigma fraternity."
