Follow on Google News | Sonorous Records Releasing Old Time Religion -- The Brewster SingersOld Time Religion is the title of a new release of original recordings by The Brewster Singers
By: Sonorous Records Inc. The group was formed by W.H. Brewster. Reverend Brewster wrote more than 200 songs which were performed by dozens of different performers during the period between 1945 and 1960, also known as the Golden Age Of Gospel Music. Apart from his vast legacy in the genre of black gospel music, Brewster also had a formative influence on a young Elvis Presley. Elvis occasionally attended services at the East Trigg Avenue Baptist Church and listened to Brewster's sermons which were broadcast on Sunday night. According to well placed sources Brewster constantly preached on the theme that a better day was coming, one in which all men could walk as brothers. Other performers influenced by Brewster were Mahalia Jackson and Clara Ward, just to mention a few. https://ingroov.es/ About Us Sonorous Records is an Independent record label.
