Two San Diego Neighbors Collaborate to Do Their Part in Combating the Spread of COVID-19

SAN DIEGO - March 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Longtime neighbors and friends Jon Cantwell, owner of Hillcrest's modern travel shop Index Urban and Robert Hogan M.D., a clinical instructor at UCSD School of Medicine, are proud to announce the debut of the Covid Vaccine Pin Project, aimed at instilling pride in the vaccination process.

The idea to create the lapel pins featuring slogans including "I Got My Shot" and "Proudly Vaccinated" was born out of the duo's inherent need to seize the opportunity to pitch in at a critical juncture in the pandemic. With a rising percentage of Americans already receiving the vaccine, Cantwell and Hogan saw the importance of encouraging the rest of the nation to do their part by shifting the narrative to view the vaccine as a positive step towards the future.

"We were discussing the unique situation our community is in and decided to put our efforts into making a difference," said Hogan. "We want to contribute to accelerating the end of the pandemic."

Shortly after the idea was conceived, Cantwell and Hogan applied their collective backgrounds in art, business and medicine to quickly launch the pins as a means of promoting discussion and removing potential fears associated with receiving the vaccine.
