Follow on Google News | Two San Diego Neighbors Collaborate to Do Their Part in Combating the Spread of COVID-19Duo develops pins as conversation starters aimed at encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations
By: Covid Pin Project The idea to create the lapel pins featuring slogans including "I Got My Shot" and "Proudly Vaccinated" was born out of the duo's inherent need to seize the opportunity to pitch in at a critical juncture in the pandemic. With a rising percentage of Americans already receiving the vaccine, Cantwell and Hogan saw the importance of encouraging the rest of the nation to do their part by shifting the narrative to view the vaccine as a positive step towards the future. "We were discussing the unique situation our community is in and decided to put our efforts into making a difference," Shortly after the idea was conceived, Cantwell and Hogan applied their collective backgrounds in art, business and medicine to quickly launch the pins as a means of promoting discussion and removing potential fears associated with receiving the vaccine. The wearable art pieces are now available at https://www.covidvaccinepinproject.com or https://www.indexurban.com 10% of all proceeds from the sales of the pins will go directly to Doctors Without Borders to benefit victims of the pandemic.
