Seen through the eyes of a young Black girl named Tanisha, this instructive story takes place at a Black Lives Matter rally, when a white boy named Timmy valiantly takes a knee before a legion of riot police. His action inspires the civil rights movement of the times.

In the days following the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others, Black Lives Matter took center stage in 2020.

Author Ben Clement broaches a difficult subject with a deft touch in his fourth book, Timmy Took a Knee: Tough Times for Tough Kids. He introduces Tanisha, a young, gifted, and unapologetically Black girl who has only just met Timmy briefly at a peaceful rally. She describes how many Americans only see angry rioters and destruction, instead of a people's courageous struggle for racial equality and justice.

Ben Clement came out of retirement to serve as chief strategy officer for Edgewater Health in Gary, Indiana. For the past year, he has been on the front lines waging the battle against COVID-19. He has also run the Gary Office of Film & Television for over 20 years, bringing hundreds of movie productions, television shows, and documentaries to Gary. "Writing has always been my passion, and occasionally, my vocation as well. I've written dozens of screenplays and stage plays, hosted television shows, deejayed on radio as Rocky King, and even did improv with The Outpatients in Columbus, Ohio." His last book, You Missed A Spot! explains COVID-19 to children.
