Follow on Google News | New Podcast Launched For Stressed DadsDad and business man Benjamin Leppier, has seen a rise in men reaching out for help since the start of the pandemic in 2020. His podcast aims to address area's related to mens mental health in the hope of improving the wellbeing of men.
He says: "men, like women wear a lot of hats. Most of them work full time earning money in a world which seems to be demanding 'more' all the time. Then they return home to a busy family life where they must switch from work mode to parent mode. Whilst in this zone they find themselves noticing jobs that need doing, thinking of bills that remain unpaid, work tasks that need finishing and on top of all this almost all men carry with them a sense of not feeling 'enough'. It's very often this wound that drives them to being more busy, less available and more stressed." Benjamin believes that the answer to men's stress levels lie in a better understanding of who they were as children, who they've become and who they want to be. He says that men have lost touch with nature; spending less time outdoors than ever. Their busy lives leave them feeling overwhelmed and tired. Benjamin has created strategies which help him cope better in today's world. Things like spending time in nature, meditation, cold water therapy, better nutrition and exercise. He says: "All topics matter, there is a natural healthy balance to our emotions, how we manage money, our mental health, our physical health, diet and nutrition. "If we want to feel less stressed we have to start by removing or addressing just one thing at a time that is adding to our emotional pain. Talking is a great start, being open to change, and then taking small steps to implement one small thing at a time eventually leads to feelings of increased happiness, energy and worthiness. To me there is no more worthwhile task – than helping men to address these things and greatly improve their lives and consequently the lives of their family." Benjamin's podcast is called Stress Free Dad's and tackles topics like financial wellness, exercise, nutrition, and stress relieving therapies such as cold water. The podcast launched last week and already has several hundred downloads showing there's a real need for paying attention to the mental health of men.
